    Live:

  1. Goeienag Generaal (live 2000) - Piet Botha & Jack Hammer
The real story behind the Border War; not for sensitive listeners. And if you would like to read the real and previously untold story get 'The Days Of The Generals' by Hilton Hamann, published by Struik (Zebra). Originally released on 'Suitcase Vol Winter' in 1997, this version was recorded at the SABC for a 5FM live broadcast in 2000 and released on the 'Bootleg' album in 2001.

    Rare:

  5. Wheel Of Fortune - Raven
Song from the very rare first seven single featuring Piet Botha which was released in 1979. Raven included keyboardist Gabi le Roux who went on to become a master kwaito producer for Mandoza and others.
  6. Bossies - Wildebeest
Track off the rare 'Horings Op Die Stoep' Wildebeest 4-track EP from 1983. Composed by Colin Pratley, the drummer for Freedom's Children and Wildebeest.
  7. Fort Lauderdale (original 1990 version) - Jack Hammer
This is the song that should have been used for the soundtrack of the movie 'Stander' but wasn't! First recorded in 1990 and released on 'The Judas Chapter', this song was later re-recorded in 1999 and released on 'The Jack Hammer Anthology' album.

André Stander was an 80's cult-figure, bankrobber and ex-police captain. Stander was the leader of the notorious Stander Gang who in the early eighties robbed more than 40 banks in a spate of robberies in and around Johannesburg netting as much as R150 000 in one day. The gang's life of money, women, fast cars and an attempt to escape with a yacht from Cape Town harbour grabbed the attention of South Africans, many openly defending the gang's criminal antics. Stander was killed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
  8. Die Son Kom Weer (demo) - Piet Botha
Demo version of a song that was recorded during sessions for 'Die Hits', but not officially released on CD.
  9. Bok en Spring (demo) - Piet Botha
Original demo version of a song later re-recorded with slightly different lyrics as 'Slagtersnek' which was released on 'Die Hits'.
  10. Kitty (demo) - Piet Botha
Demo version of a track off the highly-acclaimed 'Die Mamba' released in 2003.

Song recorded during the 'Die Mamba' sessions, but not officially released on CD.
  12. Die Mamba (demo) - Piet Botha
Demo version of the title track off The SA Rock Digest Album Of The Year for 2003.
  13. Man Met Kitaar (demo) - Piet Botha
Demo version of a song that was originally going to be the title track of the album that later became 'Die Mamba'.
  14. Skielik Somer (demo) - Piet Botha
Demo version of a track off the highly-acclaimed 'Die Mamba' released in 2003.
  15. Headlines (demo) - Jack Hammer
Early demo version of a song recorded in May 2004 and released on 'The Pilgrim'.
  16. Russian and Chips (demo) - Jack Hammer
In 1970 Freedom's Children released the classic 'Astra' album which included the Ramsay Mackay-penned 'The Kid He Came From Hazareth'. (The SA government of the time insisted they change Nazareth to Hazareth - to quote Ripley's: "believe it"!). In 1981 Wildebeest featuring Freedom's drummer Colin Pratley, Boet Faber, Karlien van Niekerk, the late Dave Tarr on violin and one J.P. Botha (better known nowadays as Piet Botha), cleverly combined it with a Russian folk-song and recorded it live as 'Russian And Chips'. This song was released on Wildebeest's 'Bushrock 1' album. This version has long been a part of Piet Botha and Jack Hammer's live repertoire featuring Jonathan "The Kid" Martin on lead vocals. The track featured here is a demo recording of Jack Hammer's version of 'Russian and Chips'/'The Kid He Came From Nazareth' which was released on 'The Pilgrim'.
    Bonus track:

  17. Souls Of Africa - Southern Gypsey Queen featuring Piet Botha
Piet plays piano on this superb track by the rockers from Molteno.
